Providing an efficient ‘right first time’ repairs and maintenance services to our properties is one of our top priorities.
We’re recruiting for a caretaker in Basingstoke on a full time, permanent basis. Whilst we’ll try to keep you local, there will be times where we’ll need you to travel to and work from any of our sites across Hampshire. This would typically be to cover holiday and absence within the teams, or during particularly busy periods. You may need to drive one of our vans from time to time but will always travel and work alongside another caretaker. Therefore, you won’t need to use your own transport to travel between sites. This is a full time, permanent position working 39 hours per week.
As a caretaker, you’ll carry out cleaning and caretaking duties to communal areas of our properties. And make sure that the areas are kept clean and safe for our customers. You’ll also carry out meter readings, recording the findings and submitting them to your supervisor. You’ll do monthly fire safety and health & safety checks, recording findings and reporting back as necessary. Previous experience of cleaning and caretaking/janitorial work is needed, as well as a good understanding of COSHH. You’ll also need a full current driving licence to allow you to drive a company van from time to time. Offers are subject to a satisfactory driving licence check & DBS check.
