We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to service an existing book of business which includes providing insurance quotations to our ever growing book of clients. We are an Insurance Broker based in Westcliff on Sea founded in 1946 and have grown to now employ over 75 people between our 2 offices. Our aim is to consistently deliver quality products and offer a transparent service. We achieve this through continued innovation, investment and improvement in our staff, technology and products.
We are office based and put Treating Customers Fairly at the heart of all that we do so you will need to have the same positive attitude and focus.
Reporting to the Office Manager and working closely with the rest of the team, you will have responsibility for making contact with our commercial customers to offer insurance quotations, react to their insurance requirements/amendments and to provide a full renewal service. We will value your opinion, where new ideas are actively encouraged. There is also a genuine career progression into a management role for the right person.
Maintain, develop and grow our existing book of commercial insurance business
Identify cross-selling opportunities for existing policyholders – whether commercial or personal lines
Input new business, amendments and renewals onto our IT system to maintain accurate records in accordance with our procedures
Manage own workload to effectively service the client relationship and make placements within deadlines
Be aware of developments in the insurance markets and bring them to the attention of clients and colleagues
Have at least 2 years’ commercial insurance broking experience
Preferably hold a minimum Cert CII Qualification
Well organised with excellent attention to detail
Excellent telephone communication skills
Confident and able to work in a team environment, producing results/work to specified timescales
Possess a positive go-getter attitude
Able to negotiate favourable terms to suit the client’s demands and needs
Capable of working towards/achieving a pre-agreed target within agreed timescales
Hold a minimum of C (level 4) Grade for English & Maths GCSE/equivalent
Desirable (although full training will be provided):
Experience in handling private motor, household, personal lines and small commercial insurance product types
Familiar with Open GI system
Previous team management or supervisory duties.
