We were founded in 2016 after winning the Scottish Higgs EDGE 2016 for its development of a Graphene layer manufacturing process. The transformational process (patent pending) is disruptive as it enables the use of Graphene in an unlimited number of applications. Industry standard cycle times to produce Graphene are in the region of 16 hours making it cost-prohibitive for applications. Graphene’s design for manufacture (DfM) process creates 3D graphene in seconds and therefore enables high volume manufacture.

To support the technical development team, we are looking for hands-on scientist or engineer to join our team dedicated to developing products in the energy field.

The successful candidate will work in our graphene team on laboratory-based research and development of products and processes. He/she will work on new supercapacitor, produce and assemble prototypes and product. Depending on his or her skillset and interest he/she may also assist in testing, data analysis, developing systems for increased throughput and quality.

Key Responsibility:
Assist in testing and analysing the performance of test devices.
Assist in test setup or manufacturing set-up
Assist in establishing criteria for Quality Assurance measurements.
Ensuring safe operation of all process associated equipment.
Acting as a technical liaison with colleagues.
Follow SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) and help improving them.
Work in accordance with Health & Safety legislation, COSHH guidelines, and quality requirements.
Update manufacture records, and input data onto systems.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Relevant science or engineering degree
Hands-on lab bench skills for assembly and manufacture of test devices
Highly resourceful, curious and proud to puzzle and solve challenges.
Familiar with program language (e.g. Matlab, Basic, etc.) is desirable
Familiar with 3D CAD is desirable
Demonstrable hands-on experience – making things and making things work.
The technical and/or theoretical background that helps understanding correlation between test devices and performance.

The candidate should:
Be organised, patient and learn-everyday attitude
